Friends and family gathered on April 24 at the Cook County Senior Center to celebrate the 88th birthday of Nona Smith.
In March, the Senior Center took a tour of Carefree, the new assisted living facility in Silver Bay. Those who went were impressed with the many different living and level of care options.
The parent company of the Assisted Living Facility in Silver Bay Carefree is Spectrum Health and representatives from Spectrum will be at the Grand Marais Senior Center on Tuesday, May 7 at 12:45 p.m. to give a presentation called “Assisted, Enhanced and Memory Care Living.”
This will be an open meeting and everyone interested is welcome and encouraged to attend. If you would care to join us for lunch at the Senior Center prior to the meeting, please call in your reservation by 9:30 a.m. that day.
Several fun outings are planned, such as the Grand Portage Casino Express on “Lucky Tuesday,” May 14. Transportation is free for those who board at the Senior Center. In-town pickup is available for $1.
Seniors will also be heading to Trail Center for lunch on Wednesday, May 8. Depart the Cook County Senior Center at 10:30 a.m., return at approximately 2:00 p.m. Seniors will receive a 20 percent discount off their lunch bill, courtesy of Trail Center!
The cost of the trip is $7 for transportation, lunch at your own expense. Pick-ups and drop-offs within town are available upon request for an additional fee of $1 per person.
Registration is due by Monday, May 6 at 4:00 p.m.
The Senior Center Cribbage Tournament continues Thursday, April 11 – Thursday, May 16 from 9:45 – 11:45 a.m.
