Baseball is in full swing in the Northland with plenty of July games scheduled for our Babe Ruth and VFW teams. Locally, the games are played behind the high school on the Arleigh Jorgenson field.
This week the kids played a double header at home on Tuesday against Eveleth, and on Thursday they traveled to international Falls to play a double header.
Tuesday, July 14, the Sr. Babe Ruth Cook County/ Silver Bay (CC/SB) team squares off against Aurora at home at 6 p.m.
CC/SB is scheduled to travel to Virginia on Thursday, July 16, and then play at home against Proctor the next day. That home game is scheduled to start at 5:45 p.m. but the Babe Ruth game follows the VFW game against Proctor so it might start a little later if the younger kids go into extra innings.
On Tuesday, July 23, the team is scheduled to play Taconite in an away game and Thursday, July 23, they play Ely in Ely.
On July 30, the kids make their third road trip in a row when they travel to Aurora.
All of the road games taken by the CC/SB Babe Ruth team include the Cook County VFW team traveling and playing in games prior to the Babe Ruth games that follow.
