U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s “Minnesota Morning” event recently featured breakfast pastries from Moondance Coffee House in Lutsen.
After visiting different Minnesota bakeries and tasting favorite local foods, Klobuchar decided to serve these Minnesota specialties at her weekly Thursdaymorning coffee gatherings in her Washington, D.C. office.
“Moondance Coffee House is a great example of a small business that adds to the fabric of our community and boosts Minnesota’s economy by supporting other local businesses through their own,” Klobuchar said. “My guests in Washington couldn’t get enough of their wild blueberry muffins.”
Since opening in 2006, Moondance Coffee House in downtown Lutsen serves homemade soups, sandwiches, pizza, and baked goods. A small Minnesota business themselves, they support other local businesses by serving freshly roasted coffee by Roastery 7, a small roasting team located in Brooklyn Center, and Minnesota’s famous Bridgeman’s Ice Cream.
Klobuchar invites all Minnesotans who are visiting the capital to her office for “Minnesota Morning” every Thursday while the Senate is in session. Visitors can hear first-hand accounts of Klobuchar’s work in the Senate, mingle with fellow Minnesotans visiting Washington, meet the senator’s staff, and take photographs with the senator.
