Who is really responsible for the demise of our fish and game?
When I sat down to read the local fish wrapper (as Dave Williams put it), the hair stood up on the back of my neck and it won’t lie down for a long time. I was furious when I read the letter and how he wants people to believe that because of his 20 miles of ski trails, he has saved the wildlife and wolves on the North Shore.
If this is true, we should bring logging back in the county. Loggers saved more wildlife and produced more food for all wildlife than anyone else on the North Shore. But I guess that doesn’t matter.
My point is that how the letter tried to make a trapper and trapping look bad is ridiculous. This wolf was trapped and tagged legally on public land.
I can’t believe that he is trying to make readers think that his working on the ski trails was out of the goodness of his heart. It is for a profit as is his canoe outfitting business. So, all your businesses are based on the use of state and federal land. But let’s not forget the charter boats you and your family have on Lake Superior. You are legally licensed to take fishermen out on the lake and take limit after limit day after day and make a profit off of my fish. Kind of like the trapper who took your timber wolf.
All I have to say is before you point your finger at someone else taking game off of public lands maybe you should sweep your own doorstep first.
