Moyers, the new dean of the School of Health, has a wealth of information to share about seeking wellness, the programs at St. Catherine and the future of healthcare in higher education. St. Catherine University is second only to the University of Minnesota in the number of healthcare graduates produced annually in the state and is among only a handful of institutions in the nation that offers a four-tiered program of nursing education (associate, bachelor’s, master’s and clinical doctorate degrees), all levels of occupational therapy education and a doctor of physical therapy degree among many other programs.
Moyers recently completed a threeyear term as president of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), where she oversaw the inclusion of occupational therapy in U.S. healthcare reform legislation and increased membership and grassroots advocacy activities. She has published extensively on the topic of substance use and disorders and has worked with AOTA to systematically review evidence to identify effective interventions in this area of practice.
The talk is sponsored by St. Catherine University Alumnae, Northeastern Minnesota Chapter, and Sharing and Caring Women of St. John’s Catholic Church.
St. John’s Catholic Church is located at Broadway and 5th Street in Grand Marais.
