The general public, especially commercial property owners and managers, are invited to visit Grand Marais City Hall during businesses hours and see a lighting display in the mayor’s office.
Each fixture uses LED lamps but all are configured differently. Examples range from replacing only the lamp to replacing the whole fixture.
Keith Butcher, Energy Services representative for Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA), has description labels on each fixture. Costs and savings for each example are printed in handouts and rebate information is available.
The Grand Marais Public Utilities (GMPUC) is offering a bonus rebate on LED lighting through the end of 2015. This includes a $10 rebate on qualifying new fixtures and $10 for new occupancy sensors. Check with City Hall to learn about all the rebates available and how to apply for them. This offer is available to GMPUC customers only.
Questions about lighting and rebates may be addressed to Keith Butcher, kr. butcher@smmpa.org or Jan Smith at City Hall, (218) 387-1848.
