“We love our local businesses and know you do too,” said the staff at Security State Bank.
Stop in at Security State Bank to earn tickets and enter tickets into drawings for gift certificates from local businesses November 21 through December 23. Drawings are open to everyone.
Participants have many ways to earn tickets for drawings. Besides visiting and doing business with the bank, tickets can also be obtained by bringing in a donation for the food shelf or a gift for the Cook County Extension backpack program. The backpack program provides 45 kids per week in K-9 with items that can fit into their backpacks to take home. Requested items are to be small to fit in their backpack. For non-perishable items, they should be for individual servings, and some examples are cans of soup, small boxes of noodles, granola bars, pouches of tuna, popcorn, etc. Hats, mittens, and scarves, socks, Kleenex, etc. are also in need and would be small enough to fit in their backpack.
The multiple ways to earn tickets include visiting the bank, one ticket, donation to the food shelf, one ticket, the donation to backpack program, two tickets, eStatement enrollment and opening a new account, five tickets; and receiving a new loan, 10 tickets. There are many other ways to earn tickets with information available at the bank.
Tickets will be dropped into a box of the ticket holder’s choice with separate boxes for each participating business. Drawings will be held on the last day of the event, Friday, December 23. There will be chances to win $25 and $10 gift certificates with the benefit of getting people to shop local businesses. No need to be present to win.
Jeff Running, president of Security State Bank, came up with the idea for the program to encourage the community to shop locally. Jill Hill, branch manager, said local businesses have been very generous in donating additional gift certificates.
Also, Security State Bank will be hosting a Holiday Open House December 19th to December 23rd with cookies and cider.
