Coming January 11 at 7 p.m. to the Arrowhead Center for the Arts (ACA) is the musical group Cantus.
Hailed as “the premier men’s vocal ensemble in the United States” (Fanfare), Cantus is known for its trademark warmth and blend, innovative programming, and riveting performances of music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century. The Washington Post praises the group’s “exalting finesse…expressive power… and spontaneous grace.” The Philadelphia Inquirer calls Cantus “exquisite.”
Celebrating their own 25th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, Cantus presents a new program inspired by the celestial skies. From Edvard Grieg’s “Ave Maris Stella,” depicting heroes in the constellations, to David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” One Giant Leap reflects on how our timeless wonder for the moon and stars has fueled our oldest mysteries and inspired our greatest accomplishments.
