Autumn in Cook County is a spectacular time of year, filled with excitement and change. All around us leaves are swapping their green for rich reds and yellows and the air takes on a crisp, fresh feel. And this year, autumn brought excitement and change to Sawtooth Mountain Clinic as we welcomed back Dr. Jennifer Delfs and Nurse Practitioner Lisa Zallar from leaves of absence.
Dr. Delfs returned to us after a oneyear sabbatical that began last September. With two boys soon to start high school, Delfs felt it was important to dedicate some time to family and travel before the rigors of school set in. Delfs was very grateful for the quality time the yearlong sabbatical afforded her and her family. Highlights of her year included family trips to Florida, New Mexico and Washington D.C. and, as you may know, her Grand Marais Playhouse debut on stage as the evil witch in The Rockin’ Tale of Snow White.
Delfs returned to the clinic on September 1. She is happy to be back to the job she loves and we are happy to have her passion and zest for patient care back in the clinic.
Our Nurse Practitioner Lisa Zallar took six months off to celebrate the birth of her beautiful new daughter, Bryn. Bryn Katherine Zallar was welcomed into the world on April 6, 2012. During her time away with husband and new baby, Lisa did some traveling to visit family but mostly stayed close to home, easing into her new role as mother and truly enjoying the changes that new babies bring to life.
Zallar returned to the clinic on October 1 and is glad to being seeing patients again. We missed her ever-present smile and style—we are so happy she’s back!
With both Delfs and Zallar back, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic is fully staffed. And as Cook County transitions yet again with the seasons, welcoming winter into its midst, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic looks forward to welcoming patients through its doors.
