Sarah Waddle named Cook County Extension Educator- Healthy & Resilient Communities

The University of Minnesota Extension announced that Sarah Waddle has been named the Cook County educator— Healthy & Resilient Communities. She will begin her new role on September 27.

Waddle will take over the position held by longtime extension educator Diane Boothe. In her new role Waddle will be responsible for “delivering research informed educational programs in the areas of horticulture and gardening, health, nutrition, and family resiliency.” Waddle will also head up programs at the Cook County Community Center and will work directly with the Cook County Community Center Board of Trustees to support its goals.

Sarah has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Outdoor Education from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. She has worked as an educator at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and recently worked for several years as a Program Manager at North House Folk School. During her time at North House Sarah managed the Artisan Development Program, a two-year residency for emerging traditional craft artisans as well as a 10-month internship program, community programs, and volunteers at North House.

Waddle looks forward to bringing her experience in environmental education and program management to this new partnership between Extension and Cook County.
