Sara Silence of Grand Marais has been recognized for academic achievement on the spring semester honors dean’s list at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
A student must complete 12 or more graded credits and achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher to be considered for the Honors Dean’s List. If a 4.0 gradepoint average is achieved the student is on the High Honors Dean’s List.
Betsy Desy, acting dean of the College of Arts, Letters and Sciences wrote, “Congratulations! You are among a small number of students being so honored.
“You should be proud of this achievement. It forecasts successful completion of the degree that you are seeking. We wish you the very best for continued success.”
Silence is seeking her Bachelor’s of Science in early childhood education and a birth to third grade teaching endorsement.
Silence graduated from Cook County High School in 1999.
