Wouldn’t better questions surrounding conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh’s misogynistic statements about a Georgetown law student (terrible and without excuse) and the highly publicized public outcry for getting his radio show sponsors to revoke their advertising from his program be:
1. Why does it take a situation from a conservative talk show host to get people and major media outlets to seemingly scratch their heads and consider the huge double standard of liberal misogyny—specifically the plentiful, ongoing offensive remarks of political pundits like a Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann or especially a Bill Maher who have continuously gone on offensively about women without apology or demand for one? Or has it been acceptable because those comments are mostly about conservative women?
2. Concerning Bill Maher and his history of graphic misogynistic language and statements: Why would the president, or let’s say the National Organization for Women or any woman’s group or self-respecting woman in support of Mr. Obama, want to see the campaign take the 1 million dollars Maher donated to an Obama “Super Pac” fundraising arm?
3. Where was the cry of outrage when the president started taking Super Pac money to begin with (after saying he would take zero “big money- Super Pac” fundraising dollars in 2008 as a campaign pledge? Is that “change” that can be believed in?) and then on top of no “Super Pac” outrage have the money be from Maher? Where was the N.O.W. and others taking a stand on condemning the Maher donation?
Lastly, isn’t the campaign fundraising 180 by Mr. Obama really just the same sort of “hypocrisy” that George H.W. Bush was widely vilified for when he said, “Read my lips: no new taxes”?
Absolutely amazing and worth explanation by an intellectually honest responder.
