Rosemary Lamson of Grand Marais is included in the latest edition of Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, an annual compendium spotlighting “the brightest minds in healthcare” – men and women of distinction who are influential within the field of medicine.

The 990-page volume features those in the fields of nursing, dental hygiene, acupuncture, chiropractic, counseling, physician’s assistance, podiatry, psychology, respiratory therapy, social work and speech pathology. It is distributed worldwide.

Lamson is a retired RN, MA following a 54-year career serving the Cook County North Shore Hospital and community in Grand Marais. She also worked as a public health and parish nurse.

Lamson said she was hooked on the medical field ever since the age of 5, because of her parents’ involvement and dedication; her dad was a doctor, and her mother worked as a nurse. “They exposed me to the field, by their example and how they really truly cared about their patients, no matter what the hour of the day or night,” she said.

Lamson, 77, now serves as the parish nurse for Bethlehem Lutheran Church, facilitating the holistic health of the congregation and being directly responsible to the senior pastor. She was named to the International Nurses Association last year.

Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare is published by the International Association of HealthCare Professionals and is available on the World Wide Web.
