A Grand Marais man was injured on Wednesday, June 8, when the 2003 Chrysler Town and Country minivan he was driving rolled over near Swamper Lake Road on the Gunflint Trail. Cook County Law Enforcement received an emergency call at 1:43 p.m. The caller said the driver, Robert “Jerry” Carpenter, 78, was ejected from the vehicle.
Gunflint Trail First Responders and a sheriff deputy responded. Carpenter was transported to North Shore Hospital and then by medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
At press time, Carpenter was recovering at Miller-Dwan Medical Center.
