Roger Arvid Nelsen

 

Roger Arvid Nelsen, Age 86, died on February 5 in Bloomington. He was born in Duluth and grew up in Grand Marais, MN. He married Anna Lorraine Jedlicka in 1966 and had two sons, John Roger (1967) and Robert Arvid (1969). Roger served honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Bell System and the University of Minnesota. In Grand Marais, he was active in the Lions Club, serving as President, and in St. John’s Catholic Church, where he was choir director and Eucharistic minister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvid Nelsen and Amy Lindskog, and three sisters, Eleanor MacKenzie, Ardis Johnson, and Joyce Krueger. He is survived by his wife Ann and sons John and Arvid Nelsen (Dale). Visitation was held Friday, February 10 at 11 a.m. with the funeral at 12 p.m. at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis.
