Robert A. Mowan passed away at home in Hovland on July 13, 2013.
Robert was born December 26, 1931, in Little Falls, Minnesota.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the American Legion. He was a guide in his earlier years, a hunter and avid fisherman and carpenter by trade. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed a good game of cribbage. Robert always had a joke and truly loved his grandkids.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Carl Mowan and Mable Mowan of Royalton, Minnesota, and good friends Earl Nelms and Donny Anderson, as well as his best friend Duke—may he have met you at the gate.
Robert is survived by daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Martin Villarreal of Arlington Texas; son Robert J. and daughter-in-law Sheila Mowan of North Branch and son Pat and daughter-in-law Tanya Eliasen of Grand Marais; brothers Richard Mowan and wife Doty of Motley and Jack Mowan of New Ulm; grandchildren Katie and Shaun Mowan and Alexis Eliasen and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews and many lifelong friends.
Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. and memorial services at 12 p.m. on September 7 at Trout Lake Resort. September was Robert’s favorite time of the year. He will be truly missed by many.
