Ring that bell!

Above: Noah Smith and his dad, Andrew, rang the red kettle bell on behalf of the Grand Marais Lions Club last week. Not many shoppers at Gene’s Foods were able to resist the smiling little boy. He helped them by taking the donations and “putting them in the can.”

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign has been quite successful—and fun! Shoppers at area stores have enjoyed seeing folks in red ringing the bell to raise money to help neighbors in need. It is especially fun to see young people and/ or musicians. If you would like to be a friendly presence at the red kettles this last week before Christmas, there is still time! Beautiful holiday music filled the air at Johnson’s Foods last week as Will and Louise Ramberg (fourth and second grade students at ISD 166) played cello solos, duets, and even trios with Sawtooth Elementary teacher Lorelei Livingston on trombone.
