Richard P. Buch, age 67, entered God’s Kingdom on August 28, 2013, in Grand Marais, Minnesota, where he had lived for the past several years. He was born October 17, 1945, the son of Marie (nee Kachelmeier) and Nicholas Buch, of Slinger, Wis. Rick spent his high school years at St. Francis Preparatory Seminary, graduating in 1963.
Collecting polka records was his passion and he enjoyed the time he spent as the host of The Dick Phillips polka radio show at WTKM in Hartford. He also had a true love for vintage steam trains, coin collecting and square dancing, which he engaged in right up to the time of his death.
Richard is survived by two brothers, Joe (Christine) and Gerard Paul (Debbie) Buch, nephews, Kevin and Christopher Buch and nieces, Anne (Sean) Moore and Beth (Dennis) Christensen. He also leaves behind four great nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.
Parents, Marie and Nicolas, and an infant brother, George, preceded him in death.
A private interment of cremains was held at old St. Peter’s Cemetery, Slinger. The Memorial Mass, to celebrate Richard’s life, will be held on Saturday, September 21, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Slinger.
