Residents may receive letter for property assessment profile that is not official, not a bill

Residents may receive letter for property assessment profile that is not official, not a bill (149)

The Cook County Assessor’s Office has recently become aware of letters sent to local residents labeled as “Property Assessment Services” that are formatted like a bill and are offering property assessment profiles.

These letters, sent by a company called Compliance Solutions, are not a communication from Cook County. Such a letter shared with the county was offering the company’s services for a fee of $94.

The Assessor’s Office would like residents to know that, while they are welcome to take advantage of this company’s services for a cost, all Cook County property records are available through the Cook County Assessor’s & Recorder’s Offices, and in most cases are provided free of charge to the property owner.

The Cook County Assessor’s Office is currently open by appointment only.
