Reports of COVID cases slowing down in the county



While the numbers of COVID-19 cases continue to climb in the county, there are signs the pandemic is starting to slow down.

As of February 10, 2022, the county received notice of nineteen new cases of COVID in the previous seven days. In the last four weeks the weekly case counts were above 50, reaching almost to 100.

To date, there have been 797 cases of COVID since the start of the pandemic. The February 10 COVID count reflects an additional 41 cases for 2022 that hadn’t been reported earlier. On January 27, the county confirmed there had been 694 total cases over the last two years.

Cook County received notice of a confirmed death due to COVID-19, bringing the total three residents who have died from complications related to the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.
