Registration open for Lost Forest classes at Sugarloaf Cove

North Shore landowners care deeply for their land. That’s why Sugarloaf: The North Shore Stewardship Association, in partnership with University of Minnesota Extension, has developed the Master Woodland Owner program and tailored it especially for owners of property along the North Shore of Lake Superior. This comprehensive education program teaches the ins and outs of caring for trees, tree planting to fit a landowner’s schedule and budget, estate planning, and more.

Beginning this August, this special Master Woodland Owner program will focus on restoring forest health and long-lived conifers to the North Shore. Four woodland field tours will be included in the cost of this program. These field tours begin in August with online modules starting in September. The last field tour will be in April 2018.

Registration

The class is open to anyone; however, the cost of the program for persons with woodland property along the North Shore of Lake Superior has been reduced to $100 per family through a grant from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation. North Shore residents may apply for reduced registration at sugarloafnorthshore.org/lostforest.
