The 2015 Mid-Trail Property Owners Auction, Raffle and Boutique was once again a huge success. The weather was great and visitors enjoyed shopping indoors and out.

The Mid-Trail Property Owners held another successful fundraiser for the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department at the Schaap Community Center on Wednesday, August 12. Mid-Trail property owner Lee Zopff said it was the most successful fundraiser ever.

It was a beautiful day so the flea market tables could be outside.

Michael Valentini presented the auction items with humor and 68 people took bidding numbers.

The boutique was a popular spot as well as the book table and refreshments.

Ruth Westby, who has a cabin on Aspen Lake, won the beautiful “Blueberry Zig-Zag” quilt in the raffle.

Zopff said, “Thanks to all who purchased a raffle ticket. Thanks also to all who contributed, worked and purchased the items.”

The event was under the direction of Tersenia Schuett and she was very pleased to report that the event raised $12,000, which will be given to the Gunflint Trail Fire Department. Zopff added, “We appreciate all of the Fire Department volunteers that keep us safe and informed.”
