This is a long overdue recognition statement for our local fire department. My husband and I earlier this year were treated to an impromptu tour of the equipment and stories behind some of them. All vehicles were clean and organized, ready at an instant to answer an emergency. Some of the equipment has been obtained by members of the fire department combing sales of good used vehicles that can be modified for the need. Our Fire and EMS Department is very conscious of monies spent for equipment, looking for the biggest stretch of dollars.
After the equipment has been obtained it has been transformed by painting, detailing, recognition letters applied and appropriate outfitting, all under the careful observation of Fire Department members. We are so blessed to have such dedicated people that fly under the radar of public recognition. The dedication doesn’t stop there. Training department members is ongoing. As my husband and I were finishing our tour, the rest of the local Fire Department members were coming in for their regularly scheduled meeting. I was very impressed with ALL of the Tofte Fire and EMS Department. It is their dedication of time, training and skills that they pour into our community, silently, not asking for recognition but serving others in their personal commitment. Many kudos to our local citizens that go above and beyond ‘normal life’ to make sure we are kept safe. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
