As I was perusing this week’s News-Herald I couldn’t help but notice the seeming trend of turning the letters section into pontification on religious themes.
First we are confronted by a writer who has been completely taken by a huckster, misogynist, racist serial liar and suggests American is better for that. Born again? Trump is a heathen, he is his own god and nothing more, the worst president in history.
The second writer creates an allegory to illustrate his contention we are re-entering the “Dark Ages,” that we need enlightenment, perhaps looking for a political savior, but then just trails off.
But the third letter is the best yet. In the second paragraph he admonishes us to not send him our “mixed gibberish” while continuing through the next 14 paragraphs to subject us to his own gibberish mixed with a profound distaste for any cultural diversity and intolerance of political diversity.
