Questions about County Highway Department

I have two questions.

Can someone tell me why County Road 7 already needs thousands of dollars of work when it was just redone not even a year ago? It already has orange cones warning us of bad bumps! Which are there because of sunken culverts. Now we, the taxpayers of Cook County, will most likely eat the bill. Which also means the money we could have used to fix other county roads in desperate need of repair have to wait, because we have to fix a brand-new road.

My second question is, why are the county commissioners allowing County Engineer David Betts free rein of a county checkbook when he cannot even balance his own?

On May 29, 2014 he filed Chapter 13 in a bankruptcy court in St. Louis County. His assets were in the amount of $463,652.85 and his liabilities were $399,464.50. This information was made public by the Duluth News-Tribune. Wake up! Haven’t we had enough of the Highway Department’s upper management problems?

There are countless other problems that I won’t go into right now .
