One: More News-Herald readers should follow Robert Brandt’s example and express themselves when a topic moves them.
Two: I applaud and commend Brandt for his humane concern for our wildlife.
Three: Most appreciated was his view that neither authorization nor qualification (a piece of paper as he put it) was needed when individuals act for wild animals. To make his argument he pointed to Ducks Unlimited as an example to follow.
Of course we realize that DU engages qualified people (holders of pieces of paper) to work with federal and state authorities (also holders of paper) to help manage the resource.
The best practice for the public is leave wildlife alone.
