Public meeting regarding Highway 61 project scheduled for November 7



A public meeting has been scheduled to provide information about proposed improvements on Highway 61 in Grand Marais. MnDOT staff will share details about the project, construction phasing, traffic control and will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and learn how to stay informed/involved with the project.

The meeting will be held at the Grand Marais city council chambers on Wednesday, November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A presentation by MnDOT at 6:20 p.m. will be followed by the opportunity for questions and discussion The construction project is scheduled to start in summer 2019.

The project will include resurfacing of Highway 61 north and south of Grand Marais, bridge, drainage and guardrail replacement work. The project also includes resurfacing Highway 61 from Fall River Road to 8th Avenue West, reconstruction of Highway 61 from 8th Avenue West to Broadway and partial reconstruction of Highway 61 from Broadway to the Gunflint Trail.
