I feel so proud of Minnesota for voting no on the marriage amendment. I supported voting no because I wanted to be an example for my children. I think that it is important to speak up for the rights of all people regardless of any personal consequences.
In the years to come I believe we will look back on this day and wonder why supporting gay rights was ever an issue just as we wonder why women were ever denied the right to vote and interracial marriages were illegal.
This time I truly feel we are on the right side of history.
