The Superior Hiking Trail’s Bean and Bear Lakes overlook, one of the most popular hikes on the Northshore, needs the community’s help. The Superior Hiking Trail Association will be rerouting this section of trail to higher and drier ground to protect this beautiful hike and make this stretch of trail more sustainable and hiker friendly. We are in need of 150 volunteers during the two-week project that runs from June 15-26 near Silver Bay, Minn.
The Superior Hiking Trail is an incredible community asset that has connected hundreds of thousands of people to the North Shore. The trail bolsters the quality of life for locals and plays a vital role in the regional recreational tourism economy by attracting thousands of visitors annually.
The association has also launched a new volunteer sign-up system to make volunteering with the trail easier than ever. More information is available at www.superiorhiking.org/volunteer. People interested in volunteering this season can also find a full list of our Trail Renewal Projects on our website with registration links.
