The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in partnership with the University of Minnesota Duluth Center for Economic Development (UMDCED), are bringing Profit Mastery to Grand Marais this fall. The workshop is being held November 29 and 30.
Profit Mastery is a program developed by BRS built around the core premise that to improve financial performance, it must be measured. Profit Mastery training is designed to help owners and managers of small businesses better understand financial management. This two-day, hands-on training includes basics of cash flow management; financial statement analysis; cash flow planning; overcoming common cost, volume and pricing issues; and preparation for growth. The cash-to-cash cycle is explored with emphasis placed on break-even calculations, contribution margin, inventory turnovers, and accounts receivable collection.
“Profit Mastery has not been offered in the Grand Marais area for a long time,” said Pat Campanaro, business consultant at Cook County EDA. “Part of our role at the UMDCED/SBDC is to support our small businesses by providing quality learning opportunities across Cook County and Profit Mastery is a workshop that every business can benefit from.”
The two-day workshop is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at Cook County Higher Education, 300 3rd Ave. W., Grand Marais. Business owners and managers who are interested in enhancing the profitability of their business are encouraged to attend. The cost for the workshop has been covered for the first 12 participants thanks to a generous grant from the SBA given to the UMD Center for Economic Development. This is a $550 value.
