Playing in Proctor, the Cook County/Silver Bay Sr. Legion team didn’t have quite enough in the tank to beat the team from Proctor.
The game was played on Thursday, June 23.
Proctor put up three runs in the first inning and one in the second.
That’s all the runs the Rails would need as they beat the Vikings 4-2.
The Vikings wouldn’t score until the fourth when Jacob Carpenter and Jake Stadler both crossed home plate. Stadler drove in Carpenter with a single and would score on a sacrifice by his brother, Luke.
Tate Crawford took the loss on the mound for the Vikings. Tate allowed four runs, eight hits, and three bases on balls. The CC/SB defense made four errors in four innings.
Meanwhile K. Reyelts was pitching for Proctor. Reyelts gave up two runs, two hits, walked one and struck out five.
The game was called after four innings due to darkness.
Cook County/Silver Bay Jr. Legion team falls to Proctor
Proctor got off to the races early, putting up five runs in the first and eight runs in the second inning as they raced to an 14-3 victory over the Cook County/Silver Bay Jr Legion team last Thursday.
The CC/SB team wouldn’t score until the third inning and by then they were down 13-3. Proctor added one more in the fourth and when the Vikings couldn’t score anymore runs the ten-run rule went into effect and the game was called.
Hunter Gomez single in the third brought three Vikings across the plate but that was it for the offense on this night.
Jacob Carpenter took the loss on the mound for the Vikings. Jacob gave up 14 runs on 11 hits while striking out five in four innings.
Carsen Paulsen was the winning pitcher. Carsen allowed three runs, four hits, four bases on balls and struck out nine.
Hunter Gomez was three for three at the plate. Amos Falter had the other hit for the Vikings.
Cook County/Silver Bay committed seven errors while Proctor had one error for the game.
