There has been a lot of interest in having an exercise class for seniors this winter, and we are looking for a teacher. Ginger Weisser is interested in doing a beginning Tai Chi class this spring. We’re keeping a list of folks, so call or email us at bgf@boreal.org if you are interested.
In December we are planning a lunch trip to Bluefin Bay. Another idea from our adventurous group is a trip to Gunflint Lodge to ride the zip line this spring. Speaking of exercise, did you know that you can swim at AmericInn in Tofte for a $5 donation that goes directly into our “Special Teacher’s Fund” for Birch Grove School?
The Tofte branch of Grand Marais State Bank will have a “giving tree” again this year for the holidays. They are collecting referrals of anyone who could really use an extra surprise or two this holiday season. In order to keep it confidential, we are just asking for the gender and age, and the person or group who will be responsible to pick up the gift at the bank by December 18 to deliver before Christmas. Again, email bgf@boreal.org, call 663-7977, or talk to Nancy at the Tofte branch. The tree goes up right after Thanksgiving.
