Please slow down when driving on the Gunflint Trail

Kudos to my neighbors on the Gunflint Trail for their signs alerting us all that wildlife abounds on the Trail and so, please slow down, and catch a glimpse of them. Also, many two-legged creatures are seen on the Trail these days getting mail, biking, strolling with their dogs, jogging or just walking. We need to be extra careful about their safety too.

The Gunflint Trail, especially Mid Trail, is a very busy place in the summer with businesses operating at capacity, more cars, trucks, heavy equipment and motorcycles are traveling the Trail. Because of its curves and hills, lines of sight are often poor, and people and wildlife can’t be seen until you’re right on them. Our plea to all is enjoy the ride but please obey the speed limit. You might catch sight of a fox, a moose, wolf or residents and you will certainly avoid a speeding ticket.
