Open Letter to Congressman Stauber:
It’s getting ridiculous that you and your Republican friends are gambling with the debt ceiling.
The ceiling is about paying the bills that the country has already charged on its credit card. If my family were to do that, we’d get thrown out of our house.
We pay our bills. Period. The United States should pay its bills. Period.
You needlessly messing around like this with the debt ceiling when it was raised without question three times under President Trump is going to hurt many in the 8th.
Raise it now with a clean bill and then negotiate a budget.
You and your Republican friends in the House can’t even do your primary job, which is to produce a budget. It’s disappointing. We all produce budgets for our families, and you can’t do it for the United States.
Do your job.
Raise the debt ceiling now. Pay the US credit card debt, and then negotiate the budget like it has been done since President Washington. Stop messing around.
