Please… Pass it on, it will still stimulate the economy

Don’t need your stimulus payment?

A WISE suggestion— from the Women’s Initiative for Service and Education

Ann Mershon

Too many businesses and members of our community are unemployed and struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic. Well over half of Cook County residents will receive a hefty stimulus payment from the government (hopefully soon), and though an extra thousand dollars is always nice to have, many of us don’t need it. If you’re one of those, please consider passing the payment along to those in greater need. Also, if you’re an individual whose income is above the designated stimulus guidelines, please consider making a donation from your personal coffers.

In other words, pass it on!

* Donate it directly to someone you know who needs it more than you do.

*Donate it to a restaurant or local business to distribute among the staff they’ve had to lay off.

*Purchase gift certificates from local businesses to use or donate to fundraisers later on.

* Donate it to the North Shore Health Care Foundation for medical equipment and personal protective equipment for local medical staff:

Donations will be matched up to $20,000!

To donate online, go to the Cook County Coronavirus Response Hub website (google it) and click on the link under “North Shore Health Care Foundation).

You can also send a check with a note directing your donation to the COVID-19 Response Fund to North Shore Health Care Foundation, COVID-19 Response Fund, PO Box 454, Grand Marais MN 55604.
