The Grand Marais Playhouse is planning a fun night of previews of the summer performances (with midnight snacks) on June 22 at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.

. The Games Afoot is a hysterical farce that includes Sherlock Holmes, séances, murder and many surprises. Winner of the 2012 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Awards for Best Play. . The Pajama Game was awarded the 1955 Tony for Best Musical and, over half a century later, claimed the award for Best Revival of a Musical, proving that the story is truly timeless. With an energetic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (Damn Yankees), The Pajama Game is brimming with songs and dances that have become musical theatre standards, including “Steam Heat” and “Hernando’s Hideaway.” . Ole and Lena 911 will be performed by the team of Mike and Julie Bateson, who return to Grand Marais to reprise their characters of Ole and Lena. This time Ole has to play nursemaid to cousin Mildred. Can Ole survive two weeks with Mildred? Can Mildred make Ole conform to the high city standards she expects? Will Lena recover and ever come to the rescue? See for yourself what happens in Ole’s Playing Nursemaid? – Dial 911!
Following the preview some of your favorite midnight snacks will be offered in the lobby. Door prizes and award for best pajamas will be part of the fun too! So find your favorite onesy, fluffy bunny slippers and head over to the ACA June 22 at 7 p.m. Donations at the door.

Monroe Crossing returns
Monroe Crossing returns to Grand Marais on Thursday, Aug. 31. Named in honor of Bill Monroe, “The Father of Bluegrass Music,” Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. Their superb musicianship and on-stage rapport have entertained audiences across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Lunatics, lovers, and madmen…Shakespeare had them all. And this is your opportunity to try them on for size. Unlock the secrets hidden in Shakespeare’s text through movement, sound, and a little trickery. Whether you are a seasoned aficionado, new to the world’s greatest playwright or maybe want a jump-start on the high school fall play, this is the place for you.
