The Grand Marais Playhouse is collaborating with Grand Marais Public Library to host a play reading night at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, at the library. The event features It Can’t Happen Here, by Sinclair Lewis.
Interested parties are invited to come to the library and participate in the reading, or to sit and listen. Conversation may follow. No experience is necessary, we just gather, pass out scripts, discuss how to proceed and read the play. This event allows participants to experience a play by hearing it, which some feel is a more productive way to experience a play.
The featured plays are some the Playhouse has been unable to produce in full productions for a variety of reasons.
This is the second play reading, which follows on the January 9 selection “An Enemy of the People.”
