This month, Sally Berg and Gine Meisner, University of Minnesota Extension Cook County Master Gardeners, will conduct two gardening workshops through Zoom on Tuesday evenings. The workshops are on January 12 and January 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The first workshop will focus on the considerations to make when planting a vegetable garden, including what supplies you need to be successful, what to plant, how to select seeds and where to purchase them, how to decide if plants or seeds are better for you, how your growing zone impacts your garden and garden choices, how to lay out and plan your garden for the best results, and how to use herbs and flowers in your garden to manage some of the common pests in vegetable gardens. Sally and Gine will share their own garden plans to help you learn what to think about as you make your plans and prepare for your own garden.
The second workshop will be a continuation of the first with participants sharing the first draft of their own garden plans. You will receive feedback and tips from the presenters and other participants on the plan, and suggestions for next steps to help with garden success in 2021.
To register, please contact Diane Booth at diane. booth@co.cook.mn.us or call 218-387-3015 and the Zoom invites will be sent to you.
