The traditional Pincushion Classic race/ tour is going virtual this year.

To register, go to the North Superior Ski and Run Club (NSSRC) website www.pincushiontrails.org. Click on the “Online Registration” icon and select whether you want to sign up for one event (skate or classic, suggested donation $20) or both skate and classic (suggested donation $30).

If you have not renewed your membership for 2021, you can do that at the same time you register for the race(s).

The 10-kilometer course has been carefully planned to avoid the Pincushion trails’ steepest features and promises to be fun and challenging for all skiing abilities.

For those skiers using the Strava app, the course has been set up as a Strava segment “2021 Pincushion 10k”, starting at the large trailhead sign in the stadium and ending at the chalet.

You can ski the course anytime from Monday, February 8 through Monday, February 15. The NSSRC will track results informally. Just email your time (min: sec) along with the date, your name, age, gender and skate or classic technique to pincushiontrails@gmail.com.

The leader of the races will be announced periodically during the week on WTIP radio and on the NSSRC website. At the conclusion of the event the winners be announced on the club’s website.
