Phyllis Yahraes Schierenbeck of Grand Marais, 56, passed away from cancer on June 1, 2013.
She was born Phyllis Marie Yahraes on July 31, 1956 to Tom and Marilyn Yahraes, both deceased.
Phyllis worked many years for the United States Forest Service on the Chequamegon-Nicolet, Chippewa and Superior National Forests.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 33 years, Kurt; the light of her life, daughter Kimberly; her brother Tom (Cheri J.) Yahraes; brother-in-law Paul (Penny) Schierenbeck; sister in-law Carol (David) Eisenger; many wonderful nephews and nieces; beloved friends and her sweet dog Penne.
She loved her family, her co-workers, fishing, bird watching, cooking, reading, collecting rocks, collecting turtles and of course, the Minnesota Twins.
Phyllis wrote, “Thanks to my special friends (you know who you are) for all the love and support.” To everyone she met throughout her journey of life, she wrote, “I will miss you all.”
