During Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15, local fire departments visited local schools. The visits are greatly enjoyed by the enthusiast kids who get to check out fire trucks and take a turn spraying the fire hose. They also hear a fire safety message. Kids at North Shore Preschool were very excited about the visit from the Grand Marais Fire Department. The kids at North House Folk School got to sit in the truck to see what it was like to drive the big rig. Liv enjoyed her turn at the wheel.
The Colvill and Grand Marais Fire Departments visited Sawtooth Elementary. Colvill Firefighter Shane Danielson lets Bryn Allen have a turn on the fire hose, much to her delight.
The Tofte Fire Department brought its ladder truck and the whole school got onboard! Tofte Firefighter Sam Crowley shows Conner Walsh how to work the firehose.
