Dark clouds threatened rain, but the bad weather held off for the Annual Community Crosswalk on Friday, April 22. The crosswalk procession began at St. John’s Catholic Church and headed west along West Fifth Street before heading down the hill to Highway 61 and back up again. Members of different churches took turns carrying the cross. Here, Paul Muus shoulders the cross, accompanied by his wife, Bonnie.
Above: Pastor Dale McIntire of Cornerstone Community Church welcomed Crosswalk participants at the start of the procession at St. John’s Catholic Church and invited them to the community Good Friday Service following the walk. The service, held at Cornerstone, was a moving presentation of Dorothy Sayers’ Man Born to Be King adapted by Rev. Mary Ellen Ashcroft.

Here at the stop to pray for the congregation that meets at the Cook County Community Center are (L-R, front) Boston Henneman, Joshua Pike, Trinity Henneman, Rachael Pike.
