Cook County has some very active Girl Scouts. On Thursday, Feb. 24, the members of Troop 4141 enjoyed a full day of activities with troop leader Malin Aseby-Gesch and several parent and grandparent volunteers. Nine Girl Scouts spent the morning hours ice fishing on Mink Lake. Fishing was slow, but it was a beautiful morning to be outside during the mid-winter school break.
In the afternoon, everyone met at the Colvill Town Hall and using donated lumber, each of the girls built a wood duck nesting box. Malin Aseby-Gesch, Jason Gesch, Grampa Rick Novitsky and Colton Thompson mentored the girls. Aseby-Gesch said the scouts were “eternally grateful” to Sawtooth Lumber for donating wood for the project.
