Local author Howard Sivertson was the first customer at the Grand Marais Public Library for the New Year. He is pictured here with Library Director Linda Chappell. When asked if he minded having his photo taken as the first library customer of 2011, Sivertson replied, “All I came in for was a book. I haven’t had this much attention in years!” Sivertson left with a book and a movie and assured the staff he would be back. The library had 56,108 visitors in 2010.
