The Cook County Historical Society held its annual fishcake fundraiser at St. John’s Hall on Friday, June 25, 2010. John Henry and Sharon Eliasen continued their tradition of making the fishcake batter, cooked up by Nancy Kemp and friends from Hovland. Many others helped make the dinner possible. Barb Erickson and Wayne Anderson were two of the last workers plating food in the kitchen, and Eleanor Waha worked the donation table until the last participant arrived. Proceeds go to fund the school field trip “passport” program that takes elementary students to historic places all around the county and along the North Shore. Fundraising efforts will also help pay for a CCC display being put together. It will include a replica of CCC living quarters. Above: Myron Bursheim with Eleanor Waha at the donation table.
