Currently the county has jobs that can’t be filled because perspective employees can’t find housing. It’s a vexing problem, a conundrum to be sure. Kaomi Lee, a Twin Cities reporter for the PBS Almanac TV program and Mike Phillips, videographer, were in Grand Marais this week to film a show about the county’s lack of affordable housing and what steps are being taken to fix the problem. Lee and Phillips spent two days meeting with officials from the county, city, hospital, law enforcement and the private business sector to discuss the topic. At this time there is no date to air the show, but we will keep you posted when a date has been set to air it.
