Staff from the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) has been meeting with local representatives from the Lutsen townboard to plan the Gitchi Gami Trail route from the bottom of the Lutsen Mountains Road to the Lutsen town center and to the east has involved three public meetings with CJ Fernandez, landscape architect. Gitchi Gami State Trail is a planned non-motorized, paved recreational trail between Two Harbors and Grand Marais. When the trail is finished it will be 86 miles of mostly paved trail made for bicyclists, inline skaters, joggers and walkers.
