Turnout for the 2018 Ridge Riders’ annual trout derby held on Gunflint Lake, Sunday, March 4 was good, with over 100 people in attendance on a windy but sunny day with temperatures in the low 30s. All told 17 lake trout were entered in the contest with the biggest, a 5 pound, 7 ounce lunker caught by Cameron Hood, taking the first prize of an ION ice auger. Proceeds from the trout derby are used by the club to maintain the trail system and trail grooming equipment.
