Appearing one night last week on the deck railing of the Kettunen household was this Boreal Owl. The owl was surveying for rodents who often scurry about finding seeds knocked off the Kettunens’ bird feeder. Hunting must have been good, because the next morning this little owl was still perched on the railing with signs of one catch from the night before on the snow below.
