Cook County Middle School eighth graders in Dorie Carlson's and Sue Nelson's classes did spring cleaning on May 21, providing community service at a variety of locations. They worked at a variety of jobs learning the value of volunteering for others. Each student was able to choose what type of service they wished to perform—inside, outside, working with the young or elderly. Students went to Cooperation Station, the North Shore Care Center, Grand Marais Library, Cook County Museum, North House Folk School, Sawtooth Ridges Apartments, Grand Marais Apartments and Pincushion Mountain Ski and Run area.
